Explore aviation careers through classroom missions

Use a mission to discover the people, skills, and responsibilities that keep aviation working.

Map the team behind the aircraft

Ask students to identify more than the pilot. A mission can involve aircraft maintenance, weather information, dispatch, airport operations, air traffic services, engineering, and software. Discuss what information each role needs and what it contributes.

Connect a role to a classroom skill

A route estimate uses mathematics; a weather discussion uses science; interpreting instruments uses technical literacy. Students can choose a role and describe how one classroom skill might support it. Encourage research into actual training pathways rather than treating a classroom activity as a qualification.

Explore without promising a destination

Career awareness helps students ask better questions about their interests. It does not guarantee employment or certification. Use authoritative career and training resources to investigate current entry requirements, and distinguish education, supervised training, and professional credentials.
