You don’t have to be a pilot to teach with STEMPilot

Use structured resources, guided missions, and professional development to build confidence in the classroom.

Start with the teaching you already do

Begin with a concept in your existing instruction and choose a small flight task that makes it visible. STEMPilot’s materials are designed for educators without prior aviation experience. Familiarize yourself with the selected mission before introducing it to the class.

Prepare for the first lesson

Review the lesson materials, student activity, controls needed for the task, and intended assessment. Use the provided instructional videos and guided missions to practice. Keep the first student flight simple enough to leave time for questions and a debrief.

Keep the whole class engaged

Give every crew a plan to produce and observations to record. Students away from the controls can prepare maps, check calculations, or analyze a previous flight. Rotate roles and ask for an individual explanation so group work does not hide uncertainty.

Confirm your training and support

STEMPilot publishes professional development and technical support options. Specific schedules and ongoing instructional support terms vary across packages. Include the training plan in your proposal and identify a school contact who will coordinate questions and equipment support.
