Keep the session purposeful

An enrichment period benefits from a predictable rhythm: a brief introduction, a planning task, simulator time, and a closing discussion. Start with a mission that can be completed within the available time so students see the connection between preparation and result.

Use the dedicated program

STEMPilot’s published after-school program describes accelerated lessons, simulator options, instructor resources, and student challenges. Review the current package and schedule rather than assuming the school-day curriculum and after-school program are identical.

Plan continuity

Keep a simple record of each crew’s mission and next step. Students returning for another session can build on prior observations rather than starting over. Plan how new or absent students will join a crew.

Prepare your implementation

Tell STEMPilot about your student ages, group size, available room, and session length. Request a proposal covering the appropriate simulator, curriculum, professional development, and support. Decide how students will participate away from the controls as part of the same lesson.
